U.S. Senator Mike Crapo from Idaho has expressed his support for E. Scott Turner following Turner's confirmation as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Senate confirmed Turner with a vote of 55-44.

Crapo highlighted Turner's qualifications, stating, “Scott Turner has the business and personal acumen to serve him well as head of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development." Crapo praised Turner's journey from overcoming early childhood adversity to becoming a successful professional football player, state legislator, businessman, and politician.

The senator emphasized Turner's commitment to addressing the needs of forgotten Americans. "Mr. Turner has committed to lift up the stories of forgotten Americans, ensuring every citizen, regardless of creed or background, will have the same access to strong communities and quality, affordable housing," Crapo noted.

Turner aims to focus on maximizing resources and implementing effective policies at HUD rather than merely increasing spending without results. Crapo concluded by congratulating Turner on his new role: “I congratulate Scott Turner on his confirmation.”
