U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, representing Idaho and currently the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, expressed his approval for Jonathan Gould's nomination to lead the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Senator Crapo, who previously chaired the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, emphasized Gould's qualifications and experience.
"Jonathan is an experienced, dedicated individual whose leadership will be essential in carrying out the OCC’s mission of ensuring safety, soundness and fair access in the financial services industry," Crapo stated. He further remarked on Gould's potential as a strong advocate for addressing practices that have undermined fairness and market access in recent years.
Crapo highlighted Gould's extensive background across both public and private sectors as a key factor qualifying him for this role. "His extensive background in the public and private sectors make him highly qualified for the task ahead, and I look forward to working with him once confirmed," he added.
