Born March 24, 1938, in Rigby, Idaho. He starred in multiple sports at Rigby High. He played college football at Utah. He was drafted in 1960 and played 13 years with the St. Louis Cardinals. He made eight Pro Bowls. He led the NFL in interceptions in 1966. He stayed with the franchise as coach and executive after retirement. He helped shape the safety position. The town honored him with Larry Wilson Day in 1967. Field and stadium landmarks in Rigby bear his name. He connected football legacy back to his hometown.
