WASHINGTON— Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson has shown his unwavering support for pro-life policies by voting in favor of two critical pieces of legislation aimed at protecting the rights of the unborn and providing support for pregnant women and families.

One of the bills, H.R.6914 - the Pregnant Students' Rights Act, ensures that all pregnant college students are aware of their rights and protections when it comes to carrying a pregnancy to term. The legislation aims to empower these students by providing them with the necessary resources and information they need to make informed decisions about their pregnancies.

In expressing his support for the bill, Rep. Simpson stated, "Throughout my time in Congress, my stance has always been to protect the right to life. I have proudly supported pro-life policies and advocated for solutions that empower mothers and support them with resources and information. The right to life – the most fundamental human right – deserves to be protected and upheld, and I will always fight for the most vulnerable among us."

The second bill, H.R.6918 - the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, aims to ensure that pregnancy resource centers have access to the necessary resources they need to provide support to mothers and families. By providing these centers with the means to offer assistance and guidance, the bill seeks to create a support system that helps pregnant women and families navigate the challenges they may face.

Rep. Simpson's dedication to the pro-life cause has been recognized by the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America's 2024 scorecard, which awarded him an A+. This recognition further solidifies his commitment to protecting the rights of the unborn and advocating for policies that support mothers and families.

In addition to his vote in support of these bills, Rep. Simpson has also cosponsored H.R.431 - the Life at Conception Act. This bill declares that the right to life, guaranteed by the Constitution, is vested in each human being at all stages of life. By cosponsoring this legislation, Rep. The Pregnant Students' Rights Act and the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act were both successfully passed with narrow margins. The Pregnant Students' Rights Act passed with a vote of 212 - 207, while the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act passed with a vote of 214 - 208.
