U.S. Senator Mike Crapo from Idaho released a statement following the Senate's confirmation of Sean Duffy as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The confirmation was decided by a vote of 77-22.

Crapo emphasized the importance of the DOT in facilitating the movement of people and goods across the United States, which he described as crucial for supporting a thriving economy, especially in rural and landlocked states like Idaho. He noted that the department is currently dealing with several emerging issues, including electric vehicle mandates, new technologies, and federal aviation challenges.

In his statement, Crapo expressed confidence in Duffy's ability to tackle these challenges: “As Secretary of DOT, Sean Duffy will meet these challenges head-on. He will prioritize safety on the ground and in the air, preserve American vehicle choice and reduce bureaucratic red tape necessary for advancing needed, but responsible infrastructure projects.”
