U.S. Senator Mike Crapo of Idaho has released a statement following the Senate's confirmation of Pam Bondi as the United States Attorney General. The confirmation, which passed with a 54-46 vote, marks a significant development in the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Crapo expressed his views on the DOJ's past actions under the previous administration. He stated, "Under the previous Administration, the DOJ weaponized the justice system against the Left’s perceived political enemies. Notably, it targeted pro-life individuals and President Donald Trump in frivolous, politically-motivated lawsuits."

He further highlighted Bondi's commitment to refocusing federal law enforcement efforts. "Pam Bondi has promised to return our federal law enforcement to its rightful job of prosecuting crimes and carrying out justice without regard to political identity," Crapo noted.

The senator also emphasized Bondi's potential impact on restoring order within the DOJ and addressing bureaucratic challenges. "She will restore order to an agency facing significant bureaucratic backlogs and she will uphold the rule of law," he added.

Crapo concluded his statement by congratulating Bondi on her new role as Attorney General: "I congratulate Attorney General Bondi on her confirmation."
