The U.S. Senate Finance Committee has moved forward with the nomination of Dr. Mehmet Oz for the position of Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The committee voted 14-13 in favor of advancing his nomination.
Chairman Mike Crapo, a Republican from Idaho, expressed his support for Dr. Oz following the vote. He stated, "Dr. Oz’s years of experience as an acclaimed physician and public health advocate have prepared him well to manage the intricacies of CMS.
