U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) has received an A+ rating from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). The NSSF released its 2024 Congressional Report Card, which grades U.S. Representatives and Senators on key legislation affecting the firearm industry, Second Amendment rights, and recreational shooting.

"Gun control advocates continue to seek creative methods of advancing their agenda, both through legislation and litigation," said Crapo. "I continue to oppose all efforts to weaken Second Amendment rights."

Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President for Government & Public Affairs and General Counsel, commented on the report card's significance: "The 2024 NSSF Congressional Report Card is a comprehensive analysis of our elected representatives’ positions on firearm and ammunition industry priorities in the 118th Congress. The Report Card’s grades are based on key votes, co-sponsorships, committee activity, floor speeches, and other official actions by Senators and Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Members of our industry are grateful to have so many strong allies in the Halls of Congress."

Keane further praised Crapo's contributions: "NSSF is proud to especially recognize Senator Crapo as a member of the new NSSF Congressional Dean’s List for his exemplary leadership in supporting the firearm and ammunition industry and the nearly 400,000 hardworking Americans employed in the industry. Making the Dean’s List is special recognition that Senator Crapo has gone above and beyond to protect and preserve the Second Amendment rights of his constituents and the industry that makes the exercise of those rights possible. We applaud Senator Crapo for his exemplary level of support."

Crapo is one of eight Senators named to this new distinction by NSSF. To earn this recognition, members needed a 100-percent voting and co-sponsorship record.
