Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Mike Crapo of Idaho, who serves as the Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, released a statement following President-elect Donald Trump's announcement to nominate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Senator Crapo remarked on Kennedy's focus: “RFK Jr. has prioritized addressing chronic diseases through consumer choice and healthy lifestyle.” He emphasized the need for an efficient health care system, stating that "American patients, providers and taxpayers deserve a health care system that is efficient, effective and affordable."

The nomination will be reviewed by the Senate Finance Committee before proceeding further. Senator Crapo expressed his anticipation for this process: “I look forward to considering his nomination before the Finance Committee.”
