U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, representing Idaho and serving as the Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, has responded to President-elect Donald Trump's announcement regarding Dr. Mehmet Oz's nomination. Trump intends to nominate Dr. Oz for the position of Administrator at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Crapo commented on the current state of federal health care programs, stating, “Far too often, patients relying on federal government health care programs are forced to accept bureaucratic, one-size-fits-all coverage.” He acknowledged Dr. Oz's advocacy for consumer information in health care decisions.

The Senator expressed his anticipation to learn more about Dr. Oz’s plans for CMS during the upcoming nomination process before the Finance Committee.
