U.S. Senator Jim Risch, representing Idaho, has spearheaded an initiative with fellow senators to address concerns regarding the Biden-Harris administration's handling of immigration policies at the southern border. The group of lawmakers sent a letter criticizing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their approach, which they claim has led to a national security crisis.

The senators argue that the current administration has not effectively managed illegal immigration and drug trafficking issues. In their letter, they stated: “Instead of addressing the flow of illegal immigration and illicit drugs across our borders, your administration has turned its back on those who wish to immigrate here legally and welcomed illegal aliens with open arms." They further criticized the administration's focus on amnesty applications over border security measures.

The letter was co-signed by several Republican senators including Mike Crapo from Idaho, John Cornyn from Texas, Kevin Cramer from North Dakota, Ted Cruz from Texas, Steve Daines from Montana, John Hoeven from North Dakota, James Lankford from Oklahoma, Roger Marshall from Kansas, Markwayne Mullin from Oklahoma, and Tim Scott from South Carolina. These lawmakers are demanding accountability for what they see as a weakening of U.S. immigration systems and a threat to American family safety.

Senator Risch has been a vocal advocate for stricter border security measures such as completing the border wall and reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy while enforcing existing immigration laws.

The full content of the letter is available for public viewing.
