U.S. Senator Mike Crapo from Idaho, who is the lead Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, commented on President-elect Donald Trump's intention to nominate Frank Bisignano as the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration.

Crapo emphasized the significance of this role by stating, “The Social Security Administration provides more than $1 trillion in benefits to millions of seniors, individuals with disabilities and their families each year. The position of Commissioner is particularly important at a time when the agency is facing significant operational challenges.” He further added that Bisignano's experience in financial services would be beneficial: “Frank Bisignano’s career of revamping financial services institutions and stewarding their resources will serve him well in this crucial role. I look forward to considering his nomination before the Committee.”
