U.S. Senator Mike Crapo from Idaho, who chairs the Senate Finance Committee and serves on the Senate Budget Committee, made a public statement regarding the recently released budget resolution for fiscal year 2025. This statement follows the release of the budget text by Senate Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.

Senator Crapo emphasized the positive impact of the 2017 Trump tax cuts. "The 2017 Trump tax cuts powered a booming economy, made the United States more competitive, and allowed working families to save more of their hard-earned dollars," Crapo stated.

He noted that the budget resolution aims to advance tax policies that benefit working Americans and support economic growth. “This budget resolution unlocks the process to permanently extend proven, pro-growth tax policy, ensure Americans can keep more of their hard-earned money, provide additional tax relief to those who need it most, and take long-overdue steps toward getting our fiscal house in order,” Crapo added.

The resolution includes a mandate for a $1.5 trillion baseline adjustment assigned to the Senate Finance Committee.
