U.S. Senator Mike Crapo, the lead Republican of the Senate Finance Committee, released a statement following President-elect Donald Trump's announcement of his intent to nominate Dr. Michael Faulkender as Deputy Treasury Secretary.
"The Deputy Treasury Secretary will play a central role to advance meaningful policies that bolster our economic strength," Crapo stated. He further noted, "Michael Faulkender’s impressive career in academia and economics, combined with his prior experience as the Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at Treasury, will serve him well in this critical role. I look forward to considering his nomination before the Committee."
Dr. Faulkender's nomination is expected to be reviewed by the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees the Treasury Department.
