U.S. Senator Mike Crapo of Idaho has concluded another series of meetings with the nominees for President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet. As Trump prepares to begin his second term, Crapo emphasized the importance of quickly confirming these nominees to ensure a complete Cabinet is in place.

“With President Trump’s second term just a few short days away, it’s imperative the Senate move expeditiously on his nominees to have a full Cabinet in place as quickly as possible,” Crapo stated. He added that he had "many valuable conversations" with the nominees, who each possess "clear, strong goals to fulfill an ambitious conservative agenda and deliver on promises made to the American people."

Since December 19, 2024, Crapo has met with several key individuals nominated for various positions. These include Paul Atkins for Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission; Doug Collins for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; Kash Patel for Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Linda McMahon for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education; Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence; and Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor.

As Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees federal tax policy, social safety net and health care programs, and foreign trade agreements, Senator Crapo will be responsible for overseeing the confirmation process for each nominee within his committee's jurisdiction.

For further information about Senator Crapo's meetings with these nominees, additional details can be found on the Committee’s website.
