U.S. Senator Jim Risch of Idaho has voted in favor of advancing the nominations of Doug Burgum and Chris Wright for key positions in President Trump's administration. The nominations were considered by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, where Risch expressed his support.

"President Trump chose the right people to lead our energy and public land policy: Doug Burgum and Chris Wright," said Risch. "I am impressed with their commitment to keep energy affordable and reliable, reduce regulatory hurdles to utilize our natural resources, and listen to the expertise of people in states like Idaho."

Risch further stated his pride in supporting their nominations through the committee process, expressing anticipation for their swift confirmation as Secretaries of the Interior and Energy Departments.

In recent confirmation hearings, Risch highlighted nuclear energy's importance and proper public land use. He also mentioned his efforts against the Lava Ridge Wind Energy project, noting his involvement in drafting an Executive Order signed by President Trump aimed at terminating the project.

The nominations will now proceed to a full vote in the U.S. Senate for final approval.
